Our Story
Over 35 years ago Peter and Henri Greig made their way to a very special home in deepest Mid Devon, UK. Before they laid a welly down on Pipers Farm earth, they had travelled the country viewing over 100 farms in order to find one to call home. As they stepped out of the car, they knew this was it. Pipers Farm would be their forever home.
Our Philosophy
It wasn't long before the two pioneers were making waves in the industry, winning prestigious awards one after the other. They fashioned the slogan 'Pipers Farm, Meat the Natural Way' and made their way around the country extolling the virtues of small scale family farming, native breeds, grass fed meat.
Growing Together
Peter and Henri took the business truly nationwide, with customers from the Channel Islands to Scotland. The pair continued to win more awards including The Times Best Butcher, BBC Best Food Producer and were labelled one of Rick Stein's Food Heroes.
A journey of family, farming and food you can trust
1989
After visiting over 100 farms, Peter & Henri settled on Pipers Farm as their forever home. They set to building a small butchery on the farm and began their journey of farming in harmony with nature, raising native breed Red Ruby cattle.
1993
After the success of offering 'mail order meat' Peter and Henri opened their first bricks and mortar shop on Magdalen Road in Exeter, serving the local community with food they could trust.
2000
Ed, Peter and Henri's eldest son built the family's first website, making it even easier for their loyal customers to source their award winning produce.
2012
After returning from University, Will joined the family business and moved it into a new era, growing the network of small scale producers and reaching even more loyal customers around the UK.
2018
After almost 30 years on the farm the operations of the business move away into a dedicated premises, returning Pipers Farm to being the family's home.
2025
After 37 years building and championing what the Pipers Farm brand stood for, the Greig family made a clean break from the company and began again with Pipers & Co.

Will founded Pipers & Co with one mission in mind: to continue his parents' legacy providing food you can trust, while supporting a thriving tapestry of small-scale farmers and artisan producers.

The Next Chapter
In 2009 Will, Peter and Henri's youngest son, returned home after completing his University degree. Will grew Pipers Farm into a network of over 50 small scale farmers, with tens of thousands of customers in the UK, becoming one of UK's most trusted ethical food brands.
Evolution
In the summer of 2025, Pipers & Co was born. A collective of like-minded artisans, from regenerative farmers and traditional cheesemakers to bakers and growers of British beans and pulses. It's a place for people who care where their food comes from and the impact it has.
