Who actually cooks these meals?
Small British makers we trust: FieldGoods for slow-cooked dishes like beef bourguignon, lasagne and lamb and apricot tagine, Bertha's for sourdough pizzas, and Bini for authentic home-style curries.
Do you have meat-free dishes?
Yes. FieldGoods' aubergine parmigiana, mac and cheese and dauphinoise potato are all meat free, and Bertha's margherita sourdough pizza keeps things simple. Bini's range includes vegetable curries too.
How do I cook a Bertha's sourdough pizza?
As hot as your oven will go, straight onto a preheated tray or stone, for a handful of minutes until the crust blisters. Sourdough bases want fierce heat and no patience.
Is there fish or seafood in the range?
Yes: Thai tiger prawn burgers and coquilles St Jacques sit alongside the meat and vegetable dishes, so a fish course or seafood supper is covered without cooking from scratch.
Are these ready meals in the supermarket sense?
They are cooked dishes, but made the way you would make them: proper ingredients, small batches, slow methods. A FieldGoods bourguignon is braised like yours would be; it simply arrives with the hours already spent.
