Product details

Richly marbled native breed pork belly with a crackling-ready skin, slow-grown on British farms for the fat content and flavour that make this cut so worth cooking properly.

Native breed pork belly is one of those cuts that rewards patience and repays it generously. Sourced from native breed British pigs, breeds chosen for flavour rather than leanness, the belly has the fat marbling and thick, scored skin that's essential for proper crackling and a meltingly tender interior. Score the skin deeply, rub with salt and fennel seeds, and roast low and slow at 160°C for two and a half hours before cranking the heat to 220°C for the last 20 minutes to blister the crackling. The fat renders down to baste the meat from within, leaving layers that are silky, porky, and completely satisfying. Equally, pork belly works brilliantly braised in cider with apples and bay, or sliced into strips for a slow-cooked Asian braise with soy, ginger and star anise. Available in 500g, 1kg, and 1.5kg cuts, buy it online and have proper British pork belly delivered to your door.

Pork Shoulder

We cooked the rolled pork shoulder last Sunday and it was outstanding. Proper crackling, rich flavour and no watery mess in the tray. You can really taste the difference in how the animals are raised.

Slow Grown Whole Chicken

The chicken was full of flavour and roasted evenly. Nothing pumped or artificial about it. Just proper, honest food and a world away from supermarket birds.
