Are the beef products grass-fed and pasture-raised?
Yes, all beef in the Everyday Essentials collection is grass-fed and pasture-raised, supporting natural diets and sustainable land management. This approach enhances flavour and reflects our commitment to responsible farming.
How is the meat packaged and how long will it stay fresh after delivery?
Meats are packaged to preserve freshness during transit, typically arriving chilled and ready for your fridge. We recommend consuming within the use-by date on the packaging.
Is the chicken in this collection free-range and naturally fed?
Yes, all our chicken is properly free-range and slow grown, fed on natural diets without unnecessary additives. This careful rearing supports animal welfare and results in tender, flavourful meat.
How do you support sustainable farming with these everyday staples?
Every product in this collection is sourced from farmers committed to sustainable practices—such as pasture grazing, slow rearing, and traditional breeds—that protect soil health, animal welfare, and rural communities for future generations.
What is the difference between the smoked and unsmoked bacon options?
Our smoked bacon is slowly smoked using traditional methods to develop a rich, deep flavour, while the unsmoked options are cured but retain a natural, pure pork taste. Both come from native breeds raised with care and sustainable practices.
Can I return or exchange products if I’m not satisfied?
Due to the perishable nature of our products, we do not accept returns or exchanges. However, if there is an issue with your order, please contact us promptly so we can address it with care and fairness.
How should I store the meat after delivery to maintain quality?
Please keep your meat refrigerated at or below 4°C and use it by the date indicated on the packaging. For longer storage, freezing is recommended, ideally within a day or two of receipt to preserve freshness and flavour.
What counts as an everyday essential here?
The things a cooking household actually gets through: grass fed mince, whole chickens and breasts, bacon, sausages, burgers and everyday steaks. The staples, from the same farms as everything else we sell.
What should a first order include?
Grass fed beef mince, a slow grown whole chicken and a pack of native breed bacon will tell you most of what you need to know about how we farm. Mince is the cheapest way to taste the difference grass feeding makes.
Is there a chicken sausage option?
Yes, slow grown free range chicken sausages, made from the same Fosse Meadows birds as the rest of our chicken, alongside the native breed pork varieties.
Why keep a freezer full of your meat?
Because our meat arrives frozen at its peak, your freezer becomes the larder: mince, sausages, a chicken and a couple of steaks cover a fortnight of dinners without a supermarket trip or a use-by panic.
What makes the burgers different?
They are made from grass fed beef and nothing that needs explaining, including a version from Philip Warren, the Cornish butchers we partner with. Beef this good does not need padding out.
How far does a pack of grass fed mince go?
Further than lean supermarket mince, oddly enough. Grass fed mince has proper flavour, so a bolognese or chilli needs less of everything else to taste of something. It is the hardest working product we sell.
