Who bakes your pastries?
Hobbs House, the family bakery behind our croissants, pains au chocolat and cinnamon buns, with generations of British baking behind them. The sourdough crispbreads come from Peter's Yard.
What is in the Heritage Bakery range?
Hobbs House croissants, pains au chocolat and cinnamon buns, plus Peter's Yard sourdough crispbreads in original and pink peppercorn. Small, deliberate, and chosen to go with everything else on the table.
Can I freeze the pastries?
Yes. If you are not eating them within a day or two, freeze them on arrival. Refresh frozen croissants and buns in a moderate oven for a few minutes and they come back remarkably close to fresh.
What do I serve with sourdough crispbread?
Cheese, first and foremost: Peter's Yard crispbreads were made for it. They also carry pâté, cured meats and smoked fish well, which makes them the quiet workhorse of a grazing board.
Why sourdough crispbread rather than crackers?
Slow fermentation. Peter's Yard bakes with a sourdough starter given time to work, which brings flavour and a lighter, crisper texture than a standard cracker, from a short list of honest ingredients.
